
I found him in my recycle bin. So docile and slow-moving, it was easy to coax onto a piece of paper for closer examination.

His head was bronze, front legs were bright green.

Say cheese! I mean, leaf!

It's amazing how much like a twig this insect resembles!

He seemed quite happy to get back outside.

Have you ever boxed with a praying mantis? We get a lot of those here. Bugs are so much fun...

Very cool! I must confess that I have never looked too closely at one of those - I'm more of a "eww - a bug, get it outof here or kill it!" type than the "cool - go get the camera" type
Great pics! I'm glad you brought him outside again. I've never been able to bring myself to kill a walking stick. They are just too fascinating!
